Wine Advocate opain’s finest value is undeniably their 2003 Saisons des Vins Syrah l’Hiver. Produced primarily from Mendocino’s Broken Leg Vineyard, it is fashioned from declassified barrels from the estate’s single vineyard program. Its deep ruby/purple color is accompanied by a big, peppery, licorice-infused blackberry and cherry-scented nose, terrific fruit, and a long, concentrated finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
