Clarendon Hills Liandra Vineyard Syrah 2003
'The smoking gun' of the Syrah wines full of peppery, spicy blackberry fruit-very aromatic with smokey bacon overtones reminiscent of Cote-Rotie Syrah wines from the northern Rhone Valley of France. Wine Spectator Smooth and polished, a rich wine that shows restraint to its pepper and orange peel-scented blackberry and plum flavors, finishing with a refreshing lift. Best from 2007 through 2014. 1,100 cases made. Score: 91. —Harvey Steiman, April 30, 2005. Wine Enthusiast This Syrah is sexy and compelling, but in the company of Roman Bratasiuk’s other wines, feels softer and not quite as intense. It packs bright red raspberry and blackberry fruit on the palate, and richly fruity aromas on the nose. Drink over the next 3–4 years. Score: 90. —Daryna Tobey, August 01, 2005. |
