This is an enjoyable Cabernet to drink; rich flavors of blackberry and currants dazzle the palate. Tannins are subtle and velvety smooth. Enjoy with grilled lamb chops, steak, and hearty red-sauced pasta dishes. Hearty blue cheeses also match very well with the wine's black fruit character.
Wine Spectator On the light side, with pretty currant and white pepper flavors, finishing on a creamy note. Drink now. 58,000 cases imported. Score: 86. —Harvey Steiman, August 31, 2007.Wine Enthusiast Light in body, but fresh and clean, this was a surprise performer in our last round of tastings. Herbal overtones to the cedar, cherry and tobacco notes are correct from a flavor standpoint, but note that this wine doesn’t have the stuffing to pair with hearty, traditional Cabernet pairings. Score: 85. —Joe Czerwinski, November 15, 2007.
