Château Lafite Rothschild Pauillac 2004
Wine Enthusiast A beautiful wine, concentrated and intense without tasting in any way extracted or forced. It has tannins, certainly, very dark and concentrated, but the fruit is black, powerful, rich, yet still maintaining purity and a sense of minerality from the vineyard. Score: 98. —Roger Voss, June 01, 2005. Wine Advocate This beautiful, stunningly dense purple-colored effort (includes about 90% Cabernet Sauvignon) offers up precise notes of graphite, black cherries, cassis, scorched earth, and minerals. Medium to full-bodied with fabulous fruit, impressive richness, refreshing acidity, and sweet tannin, this beauty should be approachable in 4-5 years, and last for three decades. Score: 95. —Robert Parker, June 2007. Wine Spectator Extremely pretty sweet tobacco, currant and hints of oak follow through to a full-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a long, long finish. Really refined. You have to like this Lafite. Score range: 92-94. Score: 94. —James Suckling, June 30, 2005. |
